UnCap Works is a game design consultant studio led by a veteran developer with over 30 years of experience in the global game industry.
Founded by Shingo Matsumoto, a game design consultant with over 30 years of experience in the video game industry.
Throughout his career, he has contributed to numerous large-scale game projects and well-known titles, focusing on gameplay design, user interface systems, and creative direction.
UnCap Works was established to explore new gameplay ideas, experimental mechanics, and original interactive concepts.

Ape Escape Game Designer (1999)

Designed gameplay systems and core mechanics for the PlayStation action game Ape Escape.

Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS / Wii U — UI / Game Mode Lead (2014)

Led the UI team and designed user interface systems and gameplay modes for Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS / Wii U.

Pac-Man Championship Edition 2 — Development Producer (2016)

Led the development of Pac-Man Championship Edition 2, overseeing production, coordinating the team, and guiding the project from concept to release.

Super Smash Bros. Ultimate — UI / Game Mode Lead (2018)

Led the design of user interface systems and gameplay modes for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, contributing to the overall player experience of the Nintendo Switch title.

Delivering actionable feedback to support decision-making in both early concept stages and ongoing production.
